Roughed-Up Riding Boots
It was pouring snow this morning! Because of the weather I was faced with the dilemma of what to wear considering the conditions outside - remember I work in fashion so I can't really just "slum it" for a day. This is wear my idea of opposites really comes to play; A beautiful cashmere J.Crew sweater that is very feminine and preppy paired with some tough looking riding boots.
Today's I want to focus on these amazing boots. Straight up: I love shoes. Too much. But I'm also very picky. Boots need to have a wide enough calf that I can fit jeans into them. I have issues with my arch and need at least a 2 inch heel so my tendonitis doesn't act up. They also have to be well made, comfortable and stylish. I mean thats not asking too much, right? Luckily I checked off al of these with these stone grey boots from White Mountain. They are made of a durable faux leather (which is great when the weather is wet outside) and have lasted me for at least 3 or 4 years! I got them after college when I realized that NY Winters were destroying my shoes and I needed a pair of-non rain boots that would really stand up to the weather. And, if I remember correctly, I found these at DSW for only around $40-50! I loved the colour, the fact that they actually had a decent heel, and the "roughed-up/rugged" effect that had been done to the faux leather. With these, the block heel and deep treads help keep me balanced on icy and slushy sidewalks when running to and from the train.Considering I've had them so long, I think they were worth far more than what I paid. Now I couldn't find these specific ones (I don't think they make them anymore) but I wanted to find an equally durable and inexpensive pair to share for you guys.
So I want to stick with this brand because White Mountain makes a fantastic, durable, and beautiful shoe. They are comfortable an affordable so I think I only need to make one suggestion today: this extremely similar pair is only $39.99! Buy it here
